Swish, swish, swish, the sparkling water would catch the sun as it dripped from the now hovering oar, only to be placed back in the water for a quick swim in the clear blue. It is glorious, it is all glorious.

It is a hard feeling to describe, unless you have visited or have stayed in Tahoe for a while – the feeling of being exactly where you want to be. As an 8 year old girl rowing a little row boat in front of my grandma’s house in Tahoe City with my two dogs as weary crew members, I remember that feeling, knowing that this had to be one of the best places and moments in the world. I remember the feeling of my heart sinking everytime the weekend would end and we had to return home. Throughout the years I snowboarded all the mountains around the Lake making Kirkwood our main ride, and then, 20 years later I finally made my way back with my now family in tow, red Old Town Canoe strapped to our Subaru, to relive what I remembered – but this time I wouldn’t have to leave Lake Tahoe again.

From the time I was young, we celebrated all our holidays in Lake Tahoe, only adding to all the glorious times of “Being” here. “Celebrating” is the closest word I can think of to describe our life here - not just our holidays, but our everyday. And with a life-long dream of opening a holiday store, it seemed appropriate to follow my heart as we did in deciding to live here, to open Lake Tahoe Holidays, our “Celebration” store.

Lake Tahoe Holidays is a feeling, an experience the best I know how to produce, to exemplify our love of holidays and Lake Tahoe with our heartfelt respect and service to our dear customers, friends and community. Our Old Town Canoe that we have enjoyed with our young boys on the Lake now lovingly adorns the center of our shop - a real connection to why we are here - living that feeling.

Lake Tahoe Holidays only picks the most unique gifts we can find and of the highest quality. We feature exquisite pieces from around the world, such as Steinbach Nutcrackers, Russian Wooden Santas, Annalee hand-painted Collector’s Dolls, Jim Shore hand-painted pieces, German, Polish, Egyptian, Indian, Russian & locally made ornaments and gifts and many locally made jewelry each distinct in its media. We also carry an array of beautiful everyday gifts, including Woof & Poof and fanciful Moonlight & Roses Vintage Plaques, both produced in California. We always will greet you with a warm smile and superior service, but with a comfortable casualness like a smooth and relaxing swish, swish, on the Lake.
