History and fun abounds here -- this is the place to "come out and play"!  You'll find a variety of sports and recreation options, shopping including Westfield's famous Galleria Mall in Roseville, Thunder Valley Casino, a number of great museums celebrating California's Gold Rush History, the highly-regarded Roseville Utility Exploration Center.  South Placer County is the "Getaway Gateway to the Gold Country" and all of its charms!

A short distance away is California's state capital, Sacramento.  A great place to visit is  Old Sacramento, which is a 28-acre state park preserving Sacramento's inital days as a trading post for the Gold Rush, and home to the California State Railroad Museum, the California Military Museum, Wells-Fargo History Museum and Sacramento History Museum, and the famed Delta King floating hotel-restaurant-theater.  Just across the Tower Bridge on the Sacramento River is Raley Field -- home to the Sacramento Rivercats baseball team.  Near Interstate 5 are the Crocker Art Museum and the California Auto Museum.  A few blocks east is the Leland Stanford Mansion State Park, which now hosts visiting dignitaries and heads of state.  2 blocks down N Street begins the 19-acre California State Capitol grounds, and across L Street is the Sacramento Convention Center complex which includes the Community Center Theatre.  Returning west on J Street takes you to Cesar Chavez Park in front of City Hall, home to Friday Night Concerts in the Park.  Amongst all these treasures are tree-lined streets, lots of benches, and great restaurants to explore!  Don't forget -- if you have a question, ask the Yellow-capped Community Service Guides from the Downtown Sacramento Partnership!
