Alpenglow Sports is proud to announce the sixth annual summer ediQon of the Alpenglow Mountain FesQval, presented by Salomon. The nine-day fesQval in North Lake Tahoe, California is a celebraQon of human-powered events, clinics, presentaQons, and more. The FesQval showcases over 40 individual events from June 16-24, 2018 and is almost enQrely free.
Geared toward beginner and intermediate summer recreaQon enthusiasts, the Alpenglow Mountain FesQval showcases some of the best acQviQes Lake Tahoe has to offer – trail running, hiking, backpacking, lakeshore yoga, stand-up paddle boarding, rock climbing, natural history events and more.
“The Mountain FesQval was born out of the desire to share the mountain pursuits which drew us to Tahoe with others in our community,” according to Brendan Madigan, founder of the event. “We’ve designed the Mountain FesQval as a desQnaQon event for mountain enthusiasts of all ability levels who are interested in trying a mulQtude of human-powered sports in a safe and welcoming environment.”
Madigan added, “We’ve assembled a great calendar of 50+ individual events led by some of the best athletes and community leaders in the country. We’ve added more hiking, women’s-specific events, how-to clinics and social get-togethers as a way to round out the experience for all involved. ”
In addiQon to local guiding companies Alpenglow ExpediQons, T3 Adventures, Trail Sisters, Adventure Dining Guide and Tahoe InsQtute for Natural Science, a litany of professional athletes will acend the event in order to lead tours and presentaQons. These include Phillip Kramer (Pacific Crest Trail guide and author), Gina Lucrezi (Trail Sisters), Adrian Ballinger, Emily Harrington and both defending Western States 100 champions, Cat Bradley and Ryan Sandes.

RegistraQon for the event opens on Wednesday, May 16th at 10am PST. The majority of events are free, so space is limited and parQcipants are encouraged to register online to secure spots. RegistraQon for most events requires a deposit that is refunded upon parQcipaQon. Please note that no cancellaQons are allowed aler June 8th, 2018.
