Activities for children abound in Reno and the surrounding areas. Be sure to check community calendars to find the perfect option. In the meantime, we can’t say enough good things about KIDS University at University of Nevada, Reno. Here they host a wide range of youth camps during the summer and school breaks throughout the year. Do you have an archery enthusiast in the family? Definitely consider Explore Archery Camp at Wasting Arrows. During this half-day camp, participants will learn to shoot a bow; practice important skills including range safety and proper shooting form; play exciting games; and, earn achievement awards. If your child wants to be a bit more outdoorsy, Great Basin Naturalists at Galena Summer Camp offers education programs for students of all ages. The team of environmental educators plans and implements educational activities designed in accordance with the Next Generation Science Standards. This outing provides an immersion experience where participants learn about everything from chickens and seedballs to permaculture and compost! South Lake Tahoe hosts a slew of fun day camps for the littles. For the youngest campers in Incline Village, E.P.I.C. Adventure Camps highlight the connections between art, literature, math and science through hands-on exploration of camp themes. E.P.I.C.
