Mark Your Calendars… Must do events in Reno/Tahoe!

shutterstock_428246068There is never a shortage of events in Reno/Tahoe. From the big game to St. Patrick’s Day, festivals, wine and beer crawls, concerts and more! Make sure to mark your calendars and get your tickets to all of these winter events.

Every 3rd Saturday: Reno Wine Walk, Downtown Reno

Join the Reno Wine Walk the third Saturday of every month from 2 – 5 p.m. All of the places are within walking distance. Grab your friends, pay $20 for a wine tasting ticket and you’ll receive a wine glass and a wristband allowing you to sample wine at all participating businesses.

January 24: Iration Concert, Whitney Peak Hotel, Reno

The alternative/reggae band Iration is coming to Cargo Concert Hall at Whitney Peak Hotel. They are touring with Protoje for the Lost & Found Winter Tour. And if you book a night at the Whitney Peak Hotel you’ll receive a discount with your concert ticket.

January 28: Social Science, The Discovery, Reno

The wildly popular adults-only, hands-on science exploration series is back with more discovery to be made. Explore the many amazing factors and chemicals that are in a single cup of coffee. This night is filled with brain building fun along with a live DJ, beer, wine and sweet and savory bites. The Discovery hosts many other events, checkout the online calendar for more info.

Calling all nature lovers, photographers and birders! Visit Carson Valley for an opportunity to see an influx of bald eagles, hawks and other birds of prey during the winter calving season. This remarkable weekend includes special tours, dinner and photography workshops. Be sure to sign up for these inspiring events.

February 23 – 25: 31st Annual Shooting Weekend, Carson Valley Inn

Virginia City knows how to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day! Each year they host more than 20 cooks who compete in one of northern Nevada’s most popular tasting contests. They all want to become the best Rocky Mountain Oyster cook in the West! And while enjoying all the delicious food, be sure to visit the saloons in Virginia City where you can enter a drawing for a free hotel stay.

March 11: Leprechaun Crawl, Reno

Reno’s St. Patrick’s Day bar crawl is a guaranteed best night out! Dress in your greenest St. Patrick’s Day attire and purchase a cup for discounted drinks at every venue, free entry to all participating bars and your chance to win in several creative costume contests.

March 17: Annual Tahoe-Douglas Rotary St. Patrick’s Celebration & Fundraiser, South Lake Tahoe

This is one of Tahoe’s top events in March! Join the fun and help raise money to support the South Shore Lake Tahoe community while enjoying a traditional Irish buffet, open wine bar and silent auction. This event sells out so make sure to get your tickets ahead of time!

This festival is a mix of national, regional and local bluegrass and acoustic root music, California craft beers, wines, spirits and local foods. This gathering focuses on local sustainability and nonprofits while supporting the arts. With Squaw Valley and the Sierra as your backdrop, this is an entertaining opportunity to dance, mingle and reconnect with friends.

Every 4th Saturday: Reno Beer Crawl, Downtown Reno

Throughout downtown Reno, every fourth Saturday of the month, you can walk or “crawl” to all of the participating bars in the Reno Beer Crawl. For just $5, you get a wristband, map and glass to use for $1 refills of six-ounce samples, which adds up to a half beer folks! Check their website to see what this month’s theme is because each one is different. So get creative and join the fun!
