  • Mountain biking enthusiasts take note!ᅠ If you want to bike challenging trails that offer you some of the most stunning views and scenic surroundings, the bike trails around the Lake Tahoe area are where you need to go.ᅠ Whether you’re looking for things to do in Tahoe while on vacation, or you’re a local looking for some new ground to cover, we’ve got the list of trails to travel!

    South Shore:

    Corral Loop:ᅠ This is a perfect trail for an afternoon workout and leaves from the Pioneer Trail area.ᅠ It’s one of the most popular trails on the South Shore when it comes to everyday biking.ᅠ It runs for about two miles and then meets up with the Powerline Road, where you’ll find several small rock gardens, a bridge crossing over a small creek, and plenty of beautiful scenery.

    The Bench:ᅠ For a stunning ride, check out The Bench trail, which is exactly that モ a bench tucked into the rocks on a ridge top along the Rim Trail.ᅠ You can get to it from either Kingsbury Grade or Spooner Summit.ᅠ It’s fairly easy for intermediate riders except for a few sections, but there are spectacular views and amazing scenery along the way.

    ***Rim Trail: If you ride this between Kingsbury and Big Meadow, you’ll have a great ride from one end to the other.ᅠ You can also vary the route depending on where you enter the trail.ᅠ You can expect to see stunning views of the majestic mountains off in the distance and the beautiful landscape of this area as you ride along the trail.

    Mr. Toads Wild Ride: Mountain biking enthusiasts love this route because of its technical downhill options, flowing single track, and of course, the scenery!ᅠ You can find the trail from several locations, but the common method is to shuttle in one car to the trailhead on Oneidas Street or Luther Pass.ᅠ

    Christmas Valley Downhill:ᅠ This trail offers plenty of up and down transitions, spurs off of the main downhill route like Scott’s Lake spur or the Dardanelles Lake spur, and then continues on the Rim Trail to Round Lake.ᅠ No matter which route you choose, you’re sure to find spectacular scenery, fantastic views, and a challenging ride.

    North Shore:

    ***NorthStar:ᅠ Everyone from beginners to advanced riders can handle the biking trails here.ᅠ They also have everything you need for learning the biking trails.ᅠ Locals and tourists alike come here on Thursday nights to have fun at the country bike races.

    ***Flume Trail: One of the most well-known mountain biking trails, this one starts at Marlette Lake and runs until you get to Tunnel Creek Road.ᅠ It’s a good uphill ride that can be a bit challenging for beginners, but is generally an easy to moderate ride. –
