San Diego Things to Do for Labor Day Weekend
Contributing Writer Alisa Kerr shares San Diego things to do for Labor Day weekend.
It’s Labor Day Weekend and the weather is going to be bea.U.ti.ful in San Diego! You work hard so it’s time to play hard. If you don’t have plans, never fear…Here are my pics for a great holiday weekend.
Friday: Bring in the holiday weekend, enjoy our amazingly warm nights, and catch a spectacular sunset over the Pacific from a hot air balloon with Sky’s the Limit.
Saturday: Spend the day at the downtown embarcadero for the largest tall ships festival on the west coast complete with chartered sails, cannon salutes, beer gardens, petting zoos, and live entertainment. Then head over to the sandcastle competition to see some incredible sand sculptures. Grab a drink and meal overlooking the ships at Top of the Market.
Sunday: It’s going to be a perfect beach day on Coronado. Spend the morning paddle boarding on Glorietta Bay then head over to one of the nation’s top beaches in front of the Hotel Del Coronado to relax and play on the sand or party on the Del’s Sun Deck with a festive crowd. In the evening, pick up a picnic dinner at the Mexican Walk Up Window at Clayton’s Diner and a bottle of wine from WineStyles to enjoy at the Spreckel’s Park Summer Concert.
Monday: Make the most of your day off with a day of fun at Mission Beach. If you haven’t been on the Giant Dipper roller coaster – do it! Then grab lunch and watch surfers hang ten in the wave pool at the Wave House. Get a wet adrenaline kick on, above and under the water by jet packing at the Mission Bay Sports Center with Jetpack America. Then head to the Barefoot Bar & Grill at Paradise Point for a festive crowd, live music, local brews, cool cocktails, and beautiful water views.
Cheers to an amazing SD holiday weekend!
