San Diego Category: Attractions
What better way to jump-start your family vacation to San Diego than with a visit to the San Diego Safari Park! Located just 45 minutes north of the World Famous San Diego Zoo, the San Diego Safari Park may have a similar name, but be assured that these are two completely different parks with unique characteristics that make them both must-see attractions on your travel to San Diego.
Make sure you wear your most comfortable walking shoes, lather up on sunscreen and grab your camera. A safari engulfed with rare and exotic species at every turn awaits you!
Traipse through an array of dense tropical trees and plants as you make your way through the Hidden Jungle admiring colorful birds in their neotropical aviary en route to the Gorilla Forest.
Go on a Safari to Africa without ever needing to reach for your passport. Be thrust right in the mix of rhinos, giraffes, oryx, gazelles, zebras, and even ostriches on a tour through the African Plains. Don’t forget to glance above every now and then. You wouldn’t want to miss the flocks of cranes, storks, flamingos and many more as they soar gracefully overhead.
With all this exploring, discovering, and learning going on around here it’s time to cruise on over to Safari Base Camp. Here you will find a multitude of restaurants to fill your tummy, shops to find your loved ones back home that perfect souvenir, live animal exhibits and presentation areas, and many other educational activities that range from a Conservation Carousel, and a Discovery Station for the smaller children in your family.
