An affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution and California’s Official Air and Space Museum, the San Diego Air and Space Museum in Balboa Park is an exhilarating activity the whole family will enjoy on your next vacation to San Diego.
Home to an extensive collection of historic aircraft and spacecraft from all over the world, the San Diego Air and Space museum provides an educational experience of science, space, mathematics, engineering, and aviation history jam-packed with exciting interactive exhibits including Space Shuttle Simulators, Max Flight Interactive Ride, F-35 Interactive Simulator, and dynamic hands-on traveling exhibits which are always changing year round.
Currently featured at the San Diego Air and Space Museum is a working flying replica of Lindbergh’s Spirit of St. Louis, the actual Apollo 9 Command Module spacecraft, and the only real GPS Satellite on display in the entire world. You have to see it, to believe it!
You may also find a mint condition Spitfire Mk. XVI, a Navy F6F Hellcat and an A-4 Skyhawk jet all beautifully restored in honor of our military to preserve history and educate the increasing importance of technological advancement of classic military aircraft from World War 2, Korea, Vietnam, and today.
The San Diego Air and Space Museum also boasts the only 3D/4D Theater and Interactive Air and Space Technology Kid Zone in Balboa Park where kids can learn, play and explore deep into the depths of their imagination.
