Sometimes the simple things are the most fun. Just ask the kid who plays with the box his present came in, instead of the gift itself! When you come to San Diego, what to do for fun and enjoyment is one of the first things you try to find. It’s not that hard!
Instead of thrill seeking rides, try a simple quiet walk down the Pacific Beach Boardwalk! When you visit the boardwalk, you can rent rollerblades or just walk along the beach for a relaxing beach cruise. You can also rent a bike and ride it up and down the boardwalk enjoying the people and the view of the ocean.
It’s an awesome place to relax where you can hang out at the local pub, mellow out on the sand in a beach chair, or take in the local scene. There are also great places for you to grab a bite to eat and drink. You can bring your family to build castles in the sand or play Frisbee along the shore.
If you’re an avid runner, you’ll find the boardwalk to be an awesome place to run that will provide more stimulation and views than the gym! The sound of the waves crashing nearby provides the perfect music to keep you going!
You’ll also find that the view of the sunset is unlike any other from the boardwalk. Everyone stops what they’re doing –surfers, joggers, bikers, walkers – and watches for those few minutes as that last sliver of the sun falls beneath the ocean in an array of spectacular colors.
When you’re visiting San Diego, what to do for fun doesn’t have to be a thrill ride, the latest theme park, or the shopping mall. It can be something as simple as walking down the boardwalk, enjoying the sights and sounds of the locals, and having a chance to see the sun slip quietly behind the Pacific Ocean.
